Exeter's house that moved.
Here, basking in the sunlight, is the lovely church of St Mary Steps. A medieval church I pass by most days. If I've timed it right, I get to hear the clock strike and see the shenanigans of the animated figures Henry VIII and his two guards up above. To the left of the church is a black and white Tudor building, iconic in Exeter because, as it says on the swinging sign, it is The House That Moved. The relevance of this, is that I'm in the middle of packing up my house ready to move next week and I'm thinking how Very Nice Indeed, it would be if I could just move the whole darn thing, rather than fiddle about putting it all in boxes. One thing I don't have to put in a box, thank goodness, is this website. CreativeWritingMatters is tickety-boo without walls and a roof and Flash Competition and Exeter Novel Prize entries are coming in and courses filling up. Friday Writers is already full, but there are still places available on the beginners course and Janet Kipling's workshop. If you are thinking about either, then don't leave it too late. Go HERE
