The Exeter Story Prize
It is with much regret that we have decided not to run the Exeter Story Prize and Trisha Ashley Award this year.
The amount of time and effort it takes to run a competition is the main reason for this, as the success of the competitions leaves little time for our own writing projects. We have, however, always enjoyed and felt it a privilege to read all the stories. We have had some exceptional winners over the years, and you can find out about them and read their stories on the Competition pages.
The Exeter Novel Prize continues to go from strength to strength and the 2022 short list is now up. The overall winner will be announced at the award ceremony on 22nd April. The 2023 Exeter Novel Prize will be open for submissions in July.
We apologise to everyone who was planning to enter the Exeter Story Prize but feel sure that your story will find a home. You may like to consider the annual competition run by our good friends at Exeter Writers.
A big thank you to Sunday Times best seller Trisha Ashley for so generously supporting the prize, and to everyone who has submitted stories over the years.
We wish you all the very best with your writing,
Cathie, Margaret and Sophie
