Happy Days
Time to crack open the first round of bubbly, I think, for I can now share some very excellent news I've known about for a little while. In the Spring of next year, the Romantic Novelists' Association is to publish an anthology and one of my stories is to be included in the digital edition. I am so proud! I shall be rubbing page shoulders with so many illustrious names that I could end up as fizzy as the glass on the left. I sent off the story over a year ago now. It's quite long - nearly five thousand words but I remember writing it at some speed. Then there was the many months of waiting to hear and all the time trying not to think about it. When I heard I'd been successful, I re-read it and couldn't help feeling deliciously pleased with myself. I'll let you know when it is published. There may be pictures, even a new frock - what?Another new frock? We'll see. It's a bit tricky to have a book signing for an ebook, but I'll think of something. In the meantime...cheers!

Exeter's house that moved.
Here, basking in the sunlight, is the lovely church of St Mary Steps. A medieval church I pass by most days. If I've timed it right, I get to hear the clock strike and see the shenanigans of the animated figures Henry VIII and his two guards up above. To the left of the church is a black and white Tudor building, iconic in Exeter because, as it says on the swinging sign, it is The House That Moved. The relevance of this, is that I'm in the middle of packing up my house ready to move next week and I'm thinking how Very Nice Indeed, it would be if I could just move the whole darn thing, rather than fiddle about putting it all in boxes. One thing I don't have to put in a box, thank goodness, is this website. CreativeWritingMatters is tickety-boo without walls and a roof and Flash Competition and Exeter Novel Prize entries are coming in and courses filling up. Friday Writers is already full, but there are still places available on the beginners course and Janet Kipling's workshop. If you are thinking about either, then don't leave it too late. Go HERE |
