The 2019 Exeter Novel Prize
First Prize - £500 plus trophy. This prize is generously donated by Exeter Writers.
Five finalists each receive £100 plus a trophy.
Huge congratulations to Sara Green for winning the award this year with her wonderful novel, For the Record. Congratulations also to our finalists who made up a very strong list. We were disappointed not to be able to hold our usual award ceremony but thank you to our judge, Broo Doherty from DHH Agency who has sent her report on each of the novels shortlisted this year. The competition is for the first ten thousand words including synopsis (for example: 9.5k words plus 500 word synopsis) of a novel that has not been accepted for publication by a traditional publishing house. It is open to all authors who are currently without representation by a literary agent, whether or not they have been published. Self-published novels are accepted.
