I'd better go back to photographing trees again soon. In the meantime, here's a shot of the Ladies in the basement of the British Museum taken at a most unusual moment. It's completely empty! Apart from that, I took it because I was very taken with the way the opposing mirrors reflected an infinite number of themselves. There was nearly an infinite number of me too but that would have been scary. I've been busier than ever over the summer. The latest novel is still out with three chances although I received a rejection when I got back from London. Apart from that, I have written two 4k word stories back to back. More than ever, I realise how important it is to keep on writing, even if you aren't happy with the few sentences you started with. They can always change. Unlike the infinite wash-basins above, we don't have to do the same thing over and over. That's what I like about writing. It's constantly new. Talking of new: Happy New Academic Year! I shall be seeing some of you soon at the Evening Stories course I am running. It's already booking and I'm limiting the number to eight so book soon! Go HERE

Fantastic photo, Cathie! And I agree with what you say about keeping on writing even if you're not happy with all of it. At least once the words are down on paper it's possible to go back and edit/polish etc. If you give up because the first sentence isn't perfect then nothing will ever be completed.

Thanks, Sally! To ditch or not to ditch. Is that the question? I think it might be if you're a writer. :-)
