Although it's almost old news now, here are some pics of the launch for Bright Stars and Secret of the Song at the fabulously revamped Barnfield Theatre. Sophie and I put on our sticky-out frocks for the occasion (she won) and our glitteryest shoes (I won). We had a great display of book and bookmarks, and you can just see the gold stars that we hung on the counter. It was a fantastic evening - thank you to all our friends and relations that came and helped. I'd like to thank my friends in the vocal ensemble, Nota Bene, for singing and providing me with some of the inspiration for my book - although none of the characters. Trust me! For those who have asked, Nota Bene sang the following: The Goslings by Frederick Bridge I would like to be a flamingo by Diana Draisey Fair Phyllis I saw sitting all alone by John Farmer Sì, ch'io vorrei morire by Monteverdi Night and day by Cole Porter A Nightingale sang in Berkeley Square by Sherwin/Strachey
