Having said that, I'm thrilled for Jane Lovering who won the very prestigious Romance of the Year for her lovely book Don't Stop the Music, also published by Choc Lit. Jane is from Exeter. She went to Bishop Blackall School and her mother lives in St Davids.
On the 1st August I'm chairing an event during which Jane and local novelists Margaret James and Linda Mitchelmore will tell us everything we need to know about getting published ourselves. Start thinking about questions to ask. This will be a fantastic opportunity to find out how the industry works and what you need to know. More soon.
Meanwhile, if you are dithering about booking for Karen Hayes's novel writing workshop, then now is the time to make up your mind. She is a lovely tutor, very experienced and inclusive. Whatever stage you are at, this workshop will be helpful. I wrote a very dreadful first novel because I followed my nose rather than sought good advice. Go HERE.
